| Daily Word — Wednesday, November 18, 2009ForgiveI am filled with peace as I choose to forgive. There may be times in my life when I feel I have been wronged by family, friends or coworkers. This is a perception I can either hold on to or change. My perceptions can either pull me down or lift me higher. They can either serve me or limit me--the choice is mine. I choose today to have a positive perception. I choose to focus on the blessings in my life instead of the hurts or anxieties. I choose to adopt an attitude of forgiveness rather than one of resentment. I choose to release the past, forgive and move forward. As I forgive, I experience the peace and power of God's love at work in me and in my life. Through forgiveness, I am at one with God, and I am at peace. Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive.–2 Corinthians 2:10 | |

| November 18 Joyce Meyer, Daily Devotional - Only Believe Jesus asked, Do you believe that I am able to do this? — Matthew 9:28
In Mark 5:36 (GNT), He said, "Don't be afraid, only believe." There have been many times in my life when I have been discouraged and not known what to do, or felt that nothing was working and that everybody was against me. Whether it was about unfilled financial needs or unrelenting pain in my body, I would say to God, "What do You want me to do?" The thing I have heard over and over again is, "Only believe." Hebrews 4:3 tells us that believing brings us into the rest of God. Once we enter that rest, it is wonderful because although we may still have a problem, we are not frustrated by it anymore.
In Mark 11:24 Jesus said that whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you receive it, and you will get it. In Acts 16:31 we are told, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved." Hebrews 11:6 tells us that those who come to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him. Can you see from these scriptures how important it is to believe? If you and I want to receive anything from God, we must first believe that He is, and then we must believe that He is good.

| God is having conversations with me this morning. I believe HE is and HE is good. We all have our share of issues. But sometimes, I know that my prayers are clouded. I pray for my issues/problems to be resolved. See those gray clouds hovering over in my prayers. I need to remind myself that I need to pray to become at rest with those issues/problems. Basically I need to lay those trials to rest. My overall resolution needs to be focused on not being frustrated anyone. | |
